Message: Just curious as to whether or not those air deflector/vent shades that go along the side windows are worth it? Anyone have anything good or bad to say about them?

Message: Hi I have the ventvisors the ones you can get at the dealer. They work good but I seem to be getting a lot of excess wind noise + some annoying whistling. Anyone else get whistling from them??

Message: Hey DodgeDakotaQC, well they sure look good on your truck. Are the ones from the dealership taped on, or fit in the window channel like the WeatherFlectors? I thought about getting mine at the dealership, but didn't. I bought the WeatherTech bug gard too, not really thrilled about it attaching with 3M tape, but I guess thats really the only way to mount it, since there really is no "lip" on the hood to mount it to. Now if it would only warm up so I can get this stuff on I will be a happy camper.

Message: Well, I guess it's unanimous. WeatherTech is the way to go. Have any of you noticed any damage to the edge of your windows? I imagine that there'd be some scratching where the window contacts the plastic in the window channel. Any window tint issues?

Message: Dan,
What information can you provide on your toneau? [Your profile indicated a Weather Tech toneau]. I've been considering a toneau for my '00QC and if the Weather Tech vents and toneau are a nice as posts indicate, I'd be interested. Would appreciate any info: fit/finish, ease of install, supplier, maybe even price-if you don't mind.
Thanks for the info,...D

Sorry Doc
The "WeatherFlectors" is the product name for the WeathTech's
The Tonneau is from Saddleman, I ordered it from AutoZone about $180.00 I like the Low Profile because it mounts inside the box flush with the rails, not up on the rails.
Here's a link to their web site if you have any other ?'s I'd be glad to help

Message: Good: ya can leave yer winder open in the summer to leave in cooler air and not have to worry if it starts to rain when your are parked or on the road. Less wind noise then not havin them. No rain comes in if the window is down a little and yer out cruisin.
Bad: The blind spot you get around the mirror ans A piller gets a lot bigger, I dang near hit a small woman the other day at the grocery cause she was so small she stayed hid in the larger blind spot on the drivers side as she walked out inta the parkin lot in fronta me. She then cranked all over me fer her jaywalkin. All i needed ta do to difuse it was start gitten da shotgun outa the back winda.

Message: I have the ventvisors on my QC and yes they are a bit noisy. This sounds a bit weird but it worked for me. Right at the base of the visor, beside the mirror, it cups under a bit. I used some clear silicone and filled in that cup and the noise disappeared. It's only visible from the front seats and if you don't like it, it's easy to remove.Try it, you may be happy.

Message: Go with the WeatherTechs. I've seen enough people on the Durango Owners Club forum converting from the Vent Visors to the WeatherTechs to prove their worth. Thankfully, all the threads that were spawned on that forum lead me to buy the WeatherTechs...haven't regretted that purchase one bit!!

Message: GO WITH WEATHERTECS --VENTSHADES LOOK LIKE SOMETHING STUCK ON THE OUTSIDE OF YOUR WINDOWS!! WEATHERTECS ARE SWEET LOOK LIKE THEY WERE MADE TO BE ON THERE. PLUS THE NOISE LEVEL FROM VENTSHADES ARE REALLY LOUD. YES, I HAD VENTSHADES ON MY LAST TRUCK. ADDED BONUS, TOOK ABOUT TEN MINUTES TO INSTALL THE WEATHERTECS AND ALSO I HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THEM BOTHERING THE WINDOW TINTING EITHER.

Message: Went to the Weathertechs web site. They do look rather nice. I have the vent shades. Yes they do attach to the outside of your door with tape. Have not had the noise problem with mine. So far I like them. Also I was able to get them from Pep Boys :( for $25. For me the price was important. Not had a problem yet.
