 Subject: Disreputable classified advertiser

I found him in the SpeedTweaks classified ads,his name is Bill Jenkins and his email address is billj5625@cs.com. Any way to get his physical address from that ? Wife deleted original email, I think he was in Virginia but not sure. Sent him $47 two and a half months ago and have received nothing in return. Many delaying tactics and broken promises, including a promise to refund my money two and a half weeks ago, but still nothing and no longer responding to emails. What is the best agency to report someone like this to ? Sorry for the book, its not a lot of money but people should not be allowed to use the internet for fraud.

Hey Scat Pack...I purchased a Thunderform from him about 2 months ago, and it got here as promised, although a bit late. I will look for his address and give it to you when I find it.
HOWEVER.....the reason it got here late (and the reason he may not have sent it) is because his wife JUST had a baby about 1.5 months ago, and there were a lot of complications with the birth, to the point that they had to do a C-section. I'm not covering his butt...but I am saying that my experience with him wasn't bad, and he had a lot of stuff that he was dealing with at the time. I'll find/give you the address but if I were you I would give him one more chance, just for grins, and then if he STILL gives you grief, report him or do whatever you need to do.

Thanks guys. I already tried Bernd, I was a little disapointed, only asked the guy to email me and didn't provide me with any info. Fourgivn1 - sure would appreciate that address if you could find it - already gave him a lot of chances and just got taken advantage of. He said they were having some problems originally and would send it in a couple of days. I said sure, waited a couple of weeks and found he still hadn't sent it. After another chance I told him I wanted my money back. Still nothing. Then he starts claiming he sent it and it must be lost. Originally said he would contact me when he shipped it but never did. Caught him in so many deceptions I have no reason to believe he ever sent it. $17 was for shipping, should have been plenty for insurance too but he claimed he sent it uninsured so can't find it. Then he says he'll refund my money and doesn't. Sent him 3 emails last week with no response so no way to give him another chance. Like I said, this has been going on for over 2 months, I gave him many chances before posting here. I already figured I was S.O.L. which is why I am now posting here, if his reputation is only worth $47 to him than so be it. My sister had a C-section, sure its traumatic but its not the end of the world and doesn't give him justification for ripping me off. I want everyone here to know how this guy operates.

I wasn't saying the C-section itself was the problem. Those are quick and easy. I was saying that there were other complications that led to the C-section. However, it's real tough to argue with all of that you just posted :) If I can find it (after all, this was 2 months ago...not sure if I saved it) I will give it to you.

Well I looked all around and I can't find the address. And no, I'm not trying to protect him *L* But I bought the Thunderform from him in Jan, and then promptly sold it when I found out it didn't fit....so therefore I didn't see a need to hold onto his address. I do know that he lives in Kentucky, but doing a search on Kentucky reveals about 47 Bill Jenkins. *LOL*
I really don't know the whole story one way or the other, but my personal experience w/him was good, so I figured I'd at least be civil and let him know someone held a grudge. He told me as well that he was in fact late sending it out but that he did send it out. I tend to believe him up to the point where he sent it out, but if he told you that he would refund your money and he has not, then that's where he screwed up, and that's on him.
I will say that if he says he really did send it out (and I don't know what to believe...I'm a 3rd party) then your next step would be to go to UPS (or whoever he sent it out through) and work with them to track it down. I did, in fact, get my package late from him, and part of the problem was because they (UPS) were supposed to ship it to the local UPS outlet (in Williamsburg) but instead shipped it to the regional outlet center (in Newport News, which is about 30 miles away).
Not trying to take anyone's side, in all honesty. But what I AM trying to do is essentially make sure every option is explored. If the package really WAS shipped, then at some point UPS will be able to find the package, and you will be good to go. If it was NOT shipped, they will know that, and at THAT point you will KNOW for a FACT that it wasn't shipped out. I have done this before (searched UPS) and found several packages, and have also used the results of the search as proof when I 'went after' several people who stiffed me.

If a seller doesn't come through, scams you, or doesn't provide the parts you wanted...I can't do anything about that. I'll go through my old emails to find anything that I can for you...but that's as far as I can go.

Thanks Bernd. I fully understand your disclaimer and why you couldn't be responsible for the quality of merchandise that doesn't come from you. That however is not the problem here, I never received anything in return for my money. I thought you might have had some registration process involved with posting on your site which would yield this guys physical address so I can take further action. This might be a wise policy to institute if not. Fourgivn1 - thanks for your efforts also. I unfortunately have no way to track this "supposed" package as I was never told what company he claims to have used let alone a tracking number. Given the level of deception I have experienced with this individual I have no reason to believe it was ever sent. I'm glad you received your package, it must have taken a great deal of "hand holding" on your part to get this guy to complete the transaction he agreed to. Too bad some people can't just keep their word without excessive supervision. Kevster - love the attitude, thanks for the vote of confidence!

Actually, I didn't have to, but that's neither here nor there.
However, I know that he ALWAYS uses UPS. And if you go to UPS and tell them a bit about what is going on and that you have no tracking #, then they will probably be able to help out.

No known sending address? I thought he was sending the package to YOU. It's a HUGE pain in the ass for them to do it, but according to the last guy I bugged the hell out of at UPS, they could do it, although it took some time. But it seems like Bernd might be able to help you out more; let's hope so.
And just because he sent it (IF he sent it) doesn't mean it will always get there. I can not count HOW many times I got mailed packages that never ever arrived. The mail system in Va sux big time.

Fourgivn1 - is there really a need to discuss semantics here ? He would be the sender, if he sent it, I figured I would be the addressee. Of course I know my own address ! He has never referred to UPS, only the packing place. Sure is easier to type UPS, if that was used, isn't it. Bottom line, he has my money and I have nothing. That is unacceptable.

I just lost about $800 to a scam artist about 2 months ago and had a HELL of a time getting it back. I'm on YOUR side, so please don't get upset at me...I'm simply trying to help. It IS unacceptable that he has your money and you have nothing.
All I meant to say is that it IS possible to track down a package at UPS using a sending address (your address) and the sender's address (his, if you ever find it.) I'm NOT saying it is easy at all, and I'm not saying he used UPS for SURE (I did say he always uses it, but that came from his mouth actually - when he sent my package he said he always used that), and I'm not saying it got sent for sure. BUT, if you can't find him at all, and you get no package, might as well see if you can make any headway at UPS. If they stonewall you enough, or they simply can't find it, then that's not the way he sent it, I guess. I was not and am not trying to argue w/you...I was only trying to help. Now I will shut up. *L* I do hope you either get your package, or your money back, and cause him discomfort in the process.

Thanks. Bernd - I have a problem with your policy against providing this persons address. Possibly a good policy in most instances, in this case it's just protecting a scam artist. After all, I had the address once already to get taken. It's your business, so you should be able to write exceptions for circumstances such as this. Please send me Bill Jenkin's address so I can report him to the proper authorities. It doesn't need to be in this public forum, you could e-mail it to me. I think any business that protects a scam artist taints itself with a bad reputation, don't you ?

Still looking on my end...won't be home till Tuesday but when I do get home, I will continue looking for you to see if I can't find it as well. I would have to agree w/you as well...on the one hand, if everyone went around providing everyone else's address, it'd be alot easier for people to get hurt/shot and stuff like that. On the other hand, you're not doing any of that (*L*) and he sort of forfeited his rights to privacy when he screwed you over, as far as I am concerned. If I jipped someone out of money I would EXPECT my name to be plastered all over the place.
