Hey all. I was wonderin about the leather steering wheel option. I have the SLT, but w/o the overhead trip computer and the leather steering wheel. I know you can purchase leather wraps at say the local shop, but I know that will not be the same quality as the factory look.....which I really want. I am very meticulous about every detail about my truck. Can I buy a leather steering wheel from the dealer, or will I need to send the one I have now to a shop.....I did find one in Dallas that will do it, the website didnt post a price though. I live in TN.....so the Dallas place wouldnt really help me out much. Any input much needed thanx

You should be able to get it from the dealer. I don't see why not.

hey kris,
just wanted to point out to you that the guy said he lived in TN, not TX! That's why he was concerned about having to send the steering wheel all the way to Texas. Just thought I would point that out! Have a good one.

Might want to check on a cover. Last time I checked the dealer a new leather wrapped wheel was almost $300. Needless to say I still have the original. Kind of funny because the leather is only like a $75 dollar option if you s.o. your ride.

Wow, 300 is alot. I tried a wrap, looked fine till I had to stitch around the oversized parts we have on the steering wheel(connecting it to the column).....the stitching made it sorta bunch up. I tore it off when I saw it bunching up at those places. thanks guys

Yes, I checked into it as well and they wanted $300+ for the wheel as well.
An aftermarker wheel will work, except you lose the airbag.

The factory leather wheel is a very nice one and I wished they had offered it when I bought my QC.
