Message: ok, i am a member posting under an assumed name b/c i have kind of a stupid question. what do the terms "running lean,' and 'running rich" mean?

Message: OK....I will try and explain this as best I can...but I too am ashamed of my knowledge in this arena, and am also operating under an assumed name.
Running rich means that you are getting alot of fuel in the air/fuel mixture.
Running lean means that you are getting less fuel in the mixture.
I hope that helps a little...sorry I couldn't explain it any better.

Running lean means not enough fuel.
Running rich means too much fuel.
