Subject: rear disc conversion PARTS? and how to? IP: Logged
Message: What is the preferred upgrade for rear discs? a custom job or one of these conversion
kits? If custom, what are the best parts to use? i think the look would be awesome (i like the sporttruck look) and i've read the other post whereas everyone has their own ideas of whether or not its an actual benefit or not. I have a 98 4x4 v8 cc and am going for the "performance upgrades/performance styling (okay some racing stripes and cuda exhaust)
What i'd like to know though is which parts work? with the abs? and how does one go about this? is there any tips or tricks to the install?

I have a 98 dak too and I was looking into this kit on truckperformance.com

I hope that helps you a little...

Message: I custom fabricated mine using discs from the front and GM calipers, it cost me about $500 when all was done. I had to pay top dollar from dealer on rotors $120, as no after market were available 3 years ago. If I was to do it again I would buy the system from stainless steal brakes. Your antilock will work and your right they look great through the open style wheels.

Message: How about getting the parts at the boneyard? is that a good idea to save a few bucks?
