Subject: 3.9L rebuild IP: Logged
Message: Hello all. Slowly getting the money and parts together to rebuild the 3.9 in my 89 dakota. I read somewhere that there were several things that you could do to the block to help. Little tricks that might increase oil flow or cooling. Not talking about hi-po oil pumps. Things like slightly enlarging the oil passages on the cam journals. Cross over tubes in the intake area for better coolant flow. I know these work on small and big blocks but dont know what all should be done on a V6. Just looking for anything I can do to help this rebuild last for a very long time. Also does anyone know of a good rebuilder in the waco, austin, DFW area in texas that can do all these little tricks and not be outragous in price?
TIA
