Subject: Fog Light trouble IP: Logged
Message: I bought some super white fog li9ght bulbs a few months ago...Well after having them in for about 2 months, the driver side bulb burnt out...I figured it was a defective bulb so I bought a new one...now about 2 months later, the same bulb has burnt out again. What can be causing these bulbs to burn out? Or can it be coincidence? I doubt it.

Message: Could be acouple of things. 1 do you, start or shut off the engine. with the lights turned on (a power surge ). 2 did you make sure not to handle the bulb with your bare hands durning
installation? The oil from your hands will cause heat to concentrate at that spot causing the bulb to burn out. Was this a problem prior to changing the bulbs?

Message: Well as far as starting the truck with the lights on, I dont think ive ever done that...turning it off with them off? Yeah probably a few times. I did make sure not to handle the buld with my bare hands...i held the plastic casing at all times..I had the stock bulbs in the truck for about 6 months and they both stayed on just fine with no burnouts...I may just buy one more bulb to see what happens but at 15 bux per bulb, this is getting expensive

Message: Has happened to me twice as well. Something to do with the power supply. The dakota is not set up properlly to handle the high intensity. Waste of $$ as far as I'm concerned.
