They don't make a PCM for my truck yet, not sure if they will. I can't even get a flash until Dodge releases the codes.

I wouldn't apprentice to be a mechanic. My forte is cookin...

I'm glad I don't live near Bernd I'd have a hard time staying away from a SC if I got to take a ride in his.

Direct quote from Kenne Bell. They can do a reflash on the 01'.
DIRECT QUOTE =
"WE CAN SET THE REV LIMITER TO 8000 PER YOUR REQUEST. - IF THE VEHICLE CUTS OUT @ 98MPH NO WE CAN NOT RAISE THE SPEED LIMITER, IF THE VEHICLE CUTS OUT @ 112MPH WE CAN RAISE IT TO 135MPH."

This was emailed to me from Vicror Cruz at Kenne Bell.

I think that it is only on some PCM's though. I thought that DC hadn't released the code yet and that only some of the 2001 PCM's carried over from 2000. I could be wrong though. Cause if they can do a 2001, then they should be able to do a 2002.

Sound to me like they're under the influence of lawyers.

Personally, I purchased the vehicle...it's paid for...it's modified...and I OWN IT. I didn't pay for any speed limiter, just remove it. ;)

Kris, just hang tight until early summer with your PCM.

Not that I know of. Bernd is working on something with the PCM's. I think the PCM codes are supposed to be released this summer.

The reason why we do not have a Mopar Performance PCM for 2001+ trucks, is because they can't get it to pass emissions yet.

You guys might think I'm crazy but what would be so hard about changing the truck to a '98 or '99 style computer set-up. It shouldn't take more than the service manual for each year for the truck , the computer for the older one , and maybe a few sensors that have different values. The reason I ask is I helped one of my friends change his '95 4.6 T-Bird over to a '96 Mustang GT 5-speed computer set-up . I was helping him run the car in a 4.6 race class back when it first started and converted the car from an AODE to a C4 with a 3,800 stall and manual valvebody and 4.30 gears with 26x8.5 M/T slicks. When we changed the trans the computer went into a limp home mode because it did not sense a trans, since there were no 4.6 5-speed T-birds this was the cheapest solution compared going to an Accel DFI system.

I think part of the problem is the trucks VIN has to be programed into the new PCM along with the milage ?

The same has to be done to the '98-'99 dakotas when you buy the MP computer, you have to take them to the dealer to get the mileage incrypted. I don't know maybe I'm missing something here.

Well if you put a 98-99 PCM in a 00, 01 or 02 truck I doubt you will get the dealer to mess with it.
