Subject: Eletric Windows IP: Logged
Message: Has anyone else had the desire to have their electric windows operate when the key is in the "accessory" position instead of the "on/start" position? Currently my windows are only operational if I turn the key to the on/start position, but I would like to know if there is a method to make them operate when on accessory instead? I would like to be able to roll the windows down when I pull up to BS with someone (and have shut off the engine) without having to turn the key all the way on and cause all the pumps/etc. to make their noises. Please let me know if you have attempted this project. Thanks

P.S. Who let all the crazy racists/druggies on here and why did they just all of a sudden come out of the woodwork? Go to another board if you are TRYING to be funny! This is definitely a more mature board than certain individuals can comprehend! Go talk about your bongs, drugs, panama red, etc. somewhere else and allow us to talk about Dakotas in peace. I heard there is a new board called "All That Remains of my Mind is Bong Resin and Beer Hops"! Go find it!

Message: How can that be? Both of you have quad cabs right, yet one can have the windows work on accessory and the other can't? Quadman, what year is your Quadcab? If it is different from Halo3 that may explain some of it.
Halo3 - Where in Colorado are you? I live just north and east of Denver.

Message: Mine work in the accessory position too. But that is mainly because I have manual windows. :-)

Message: To clarify my post above, The link I provided was to enable your windows to work AFTER the key was removed... for example - on my Jeep GC, you can roll up the windows after shutting off the truck (for a 5 minute period, or until the doors open). It is very handy when you realize that you left a window open after the fact.
Also, I hate having to turn the key back on, because my radar detector starts chirping and I inevitably left the stereo cranked...

Message: My father-in-law has a 2000 F350 CC Diesel that will do the same thing as your Jeep GC. It is a pretty nice feature to be able to roll your windows up or down once the key is turned off and the doors have not been opened.
I am pretty sure that I do not need to go that far, but I would like to have the windows work in accessory instead of turning my pickup to the start position. If anyone is able to track down accessory wiring directions like OffRoadRuss was able to find for the Ram, but for the daks, please let me know.
