Subject: Bed loose on 1998 4x4

Message:
Hello all,

I'm a newbie to this site and to Dodge so go easy on me. I just bought a used 98 4x4 sport with the
5.2l (85,000). Trucks AWESOME but the previous owner thought he had a loose shock or something. He had it in 3 times and they couldn't find the "rattle". One day of climbing around and I find out I can wiggle the bed by hand grabbing above the rear wheel! I KNOW the truck has never been hit, is this common at all? Can someone post or email me with any locations/numbers of bolts/torque specs for the bed to the frame mounts, so I can adjust this quickly.

Thanks!!!
Jim

Four bolts on each side, two ahead of the axle, two behind. Torque to 55 pound-feet, and use some thread lock on them.
