Subject: I have learned my lesson.... IP: Logged
Message: Okay, i did a really dumb thing and sold my 2000 Dakota (im a broke college student), and ended up with a money pit of a Ford instead....thanks to some friends of mine, and for my own stupidity in listening to them.
Anyways.....i learned the ahrd way, and now i'm Dakota shopping again. I've found a 1998 dakota CC 2wd, v6, auto. my last was a 5 speed, so i don't know a whole lot about these autos. Any recalls/problems i should know about before i go to look at it with the tranny, or any other issues!?! any help is sincerely appreciated!!!

Message: I have a 98 Dak club cab auto trans with 131000 miles on it. I am the original owner ( I bought it with 3 miles on it) and the only problem I have had was a water pump about 3000 miles ago. But other than that, no tranny problems or no other major dilema's (other than my front brakes, but we all know about that!!).
I think the key is frequent fluid changes (oil and trans fluid) and your truck could possibly last forever!!

Message: Any idea what a reasonable price is? I'm going to go get the mileage off of it, etc. when i get back home tomorrow, and have it inspected by the local Dodge dealer, to make sure i don't get stuck with bad ball joints or anything like that;)

Message: Hey Mike! Glad to see you're Dakota shopping...I just wondered about the original 4wd issue you were faced with that caused you to get rid of the dak. Are you looking a 4wd too, or just in a hurry to get some transportation? Just curious. And best of luck finding your dream truck!
