Subject: yet another tire size question... IP: Logged
Message: So I head to the local tire place... and I say "Hey, how much would some Nitto 555 Drag Radials run me ?" and he says what size.. and I say "275/50/17's" ... and he says he'll look it up and tell me tomorrow. He called me today and tells me that he cant get me that, but he can get me some 315/35/17's for 180 each.... that's gonna be pretty damned thin dont ya'll think ? I dont mind the width so much, but damn... that's a considerable drop from the normal height. I like to go over a curb sometimes without denting my rims... Any suggestions ?

Message: 275/50/17's are 10.8" wide w/ a 5.4'sidewall height and 27.8" tall
315/35/17's are 12.4" wide w/ a 4.34" sidewall height and 25.6" tall

Message: I don't think anything wider than a 275 would fit on a stock R/T rim. The 315/35-17 is a ZR-1 rear tire size.
