Subject: Error Code P1494 IP: Logged
Message: The check engine light just came on today, and checking the code I got the P 1494. Anyone see one of these before? How serious is it? According to obdii.com this is:
Incorrect input state detected for the leak detection pump (LDP) pressure switch.
Anyone?
-Not looking forward to dealing with the dealership and putting my truck in the shop....

Message: Just more emissions BS. If they have any half assed idea what they are doing it really isn't that hard to fix, probably.

Message: I had this Code.
It came on after I installed my Holley TB. Seems Holley failed to provide the proper channel in the TB to provide vacuum to the emmisions system.
I took my truck to the Dealer twice to see if they could figure out the reason for the Code. They never did. I just happened to stumble on it myself.
Basically, I think this Code is triggered when there is insufficient vacuumm in the emmisions system. This could be the result of a defective vacuum pump, switch, a vacuum leak or a blockage (and probably a lot of other possibilities). First, check all of the obvious vacuum openings. Start with the vacuum lines on the front of the TB and the vacuum ports on the intake manifold.
According to the Dealer this code can be also be triggered by a loose/faulty gas cap.
Good luck. Could be a real simple fix or the old "needle in the haystack" thing.
