Message: I've got a 2001 QC and can fit in 74L once the light comes on. My guess is the difference is the reserve volume. When the gauge reads empty or the light comes on all vehicles have some volume left in the tank to allow you to get to a gas station .I've had trucks that let me get 85-100 km on the highway AFTER they read empty on the gauge. If the Dakota is the same that works out to about 14L of fuel. 74 + 14 = 88 Darn close to 91 isn't it? The only sure way to find out is carry a gas can and let the tank run dry, then fill up . I would not recommend it though , it can't be all that good for the engine or fuel pump I would think.

Message: I can't fit a single litre in my dakota...on the other hand I usually put about 16 gallons in...I usually don't let it go very much past 1/4.
