Does anyone make an automatic climate control for the Dakota? Was it an option on any level of the Durango that might work on my Dak? My brother has one in his Grand Cherokee and with as much as I drive I think it would be convenient!

I have the 02 quad cab w/every option included. I didn't see an automatic climate control. I haven't looked at the Durango so I don't know.
If you post your question as "CW please help" you might get a quick answer. "CW"(Curtis) is a Tech at a Dodge dealer and can answer your question.

The durangos have it but if you want it you will have to buy a durango. It would take way to much time and effort and it probably still wouldn't work. The durangos are a different animal when it comes to stuff like that.

WTF!! Is the Dakota a "second class citizen" compared to the Durango?

It seems like all the options available to a Durango should be available to a Dak.

Now I guess I'll have to hang my head in shame whenever I go side by side to a Durango!!!

Until you blow them out of the gate at the stop light. Those durangos are big heavy beasts. Built for comfort.

I have automatic climate control in my 02 Dak. I sweat when it is hot, and I shiver when it is cold to make heat. Works pretty good.

Sorry but I have to disagree with the Automatic Temperature Control in the Durango or the Dakota, there is no such thing. In 2001 they did switch to an Electronic Control, that adjusts the doors and uses electric actuators instead of vacuum, but you still have to adjust the temprature and modes manually. The term Automatic Temperature Control would indicate you set the temperature, put it in Auto mode and never have to adjust it.

You are correct, the Durango's do not have an automatic climate control, they do have a dual zone temperature control
