 Subject: What's this i hear about Dak seatbelts?

Something about defective seatbelts that come unhooked too easily if they are bumped or jarred?
Apparently some safety group has done tests and found the latch to be defective (or just poorly designed) but Chrystler isn't recalling them.
Anyone heard anything about this? I'm curious what year Dak's this applies to.

my '01 4x4 QC got a recall for improperly torqed bolts on the seat belts. That's all I know>

yeah yeah, the person that was telling me about it said they saw it on TV...probably the same thing you saw Viper6.
How did you check yours? What do you check for?

Visual, the flaw was visually obvious, the problem I heard about, if your button in yoru seat belt is rather large, you could hit it with your elbo and release it, my button is almost flush with the casing, I can't get it to release unless I push the button down into the clip with my fingers..

Guys, I saw the special on 20/20, I think they said 99 and newer Daks and Durangos were ok, the earlier ones were bad. But those shows often inflate the issue. Remember the faked Chevy gas tank explosion a few years ago? Take what you hear with a grain of salt.....
