Subject: HEELLPP!!!!! I'm Stumped!! IP: Logged
Message: O.K. people, I need some help from the electrical gurus out there. Last night I turned my headlights on and my right (passenger's) side headlight was extrememly dim. Also, the indicator light in my inst. cluster for my right blinker was slightly lit. When I put on my right blinker it blinks once and then stays permanently lit. Left blinker works fine. With the headlights off everything works fine. Now heres what completely stumped me.... If I have my headlights on, and I turn on my emergency flashers, I get a wig-wag effect. My left (driver's) side FLASHER blinks, then my right (passenger's) side HEADLIGHT blinks. The right blinker stays on the entire time. Also the rear blinkers work with no problem, headlights on or off. What the F*CK is up with my baby???? Tell my docs, how sick is she and what kinda Rx do I need for her????
Thanx in advance,
Anthony

Message: Sounds like a ground problem but I couldn't tell you where the ground is. Maybe try disconnecting the headlight and see if the problem persists if it goes away then replace the head light.

Message: You say it is normal with headlights off, there are 3 positions to try, All Off, All On, and Park Lights only. What happens during the 3rd position?
There are usually 2 different blinkers in your fuse panel, one for turn signals and another for emergency flasher. If this is true in your car, and they are the same, try switching them and go through the test again. All these things typically go thru the turn signal switch, which is in the steering column. If it is in there, good luck,,,,,

Message: It could possibly be a headlight switch going bad..they tend to "bake", getting very hot sometimes and eventually fail..let us know what you discover.

Message: I put on the Xenon head lights 100/80w One morning with the lights on I was driving and I smelled something like wires burning I got in traffic and I saw my head lights were flashing on/off. I turned the head lights off the smell went away. When I got home I put the original head lights back in and it was fine, then a week later my tail lights went out I pulled the head light switch out and I could see corrosion and burn marks on it I put a new head light switch in and this fixed it. Hope this helps.

Message: I had the same problem and it was the GND, it is located behind the right side headlight, if you have air box it is right in front of it, just tighten it up you could even add a washer or two, hay have your wiper wigged out? or quit working?

Message: Possibly the headlamp bulb is shorting out. try switching the headlamp bulbs, and see if it does this with the opposite side, and or the light switch is going bad, bad ground, pinched wire touching metal?
