I BOUGHT A NEWER SET OF DAKOTA/DURANGO WHEELS(15X8),THEY DON'T FIT MY 93 2 WD. MY BROTHER IN LAW HAS A 99 DAKOTA SPORT 4 WD.I THOUGHT I'D TRADE HIM WHEELS. HE CLAIMS HIS WHEELS ARE 15X6! THEY ARE THE SPLIT SPOKE MODEL,IS THIS POSSIBLE,OR WERE THE WHEELS CHANGED. HE BOUGHT THE TRUCK USED.

I have a set of 93 wheels on my 2000 right now for snow tires and they fit in that direction. Is the split spoke on you brothers the 'twisted star' kind that came on the 92-93's? they would be 15x6.5 or if they look just like the 15x8 straight split spoke you bought then they are not 15x6, but the same 15x8 that you have now. Why don't the 15x8's fit, where do they hit? It seems I remember lots of people changing to the newer rims, so maybe it's an easy fix to make them fit.

if your brother in-law is relying on the sticker on the inside of the door jamb it is probably wrong. that sticker is for the base model with the steel 15X6 wheels. now if he has the 4x4 is should come with a wheel and tire package posted on the sticker price of the truck when new. i have that sticker on the inside of my door jamb but my truck is a sport and came with the 15X7 5 spoke wheels.

The 15x7 are the 5 spoke with the little plastic cover hiding the lugnuts, if that helps.

There's usually a price difference of about $100 a set between the 15x7's and the 15x8's from what I've seen, so someone should be happy to trade with you, you might even see some cash. Good luck !

there any that will interchange with the stock 15"?

Check the offset/backspacing
then just make sure you dont get tires too wide and tall so that they rub... especially when turning the front wheels
