Just curious if this is too bad of a thing... I have my door open, and I shift the truck from neutral to reverse (not from neutral to drive) and I hear a really audible 'schhhh-pt'.... heh, just like that... if you really wanna know what it sounds like you can call me but that's the best that I can do with letters... Anyone know what this sound is, and why it only does it when being put in reverse ? Also, I hear a pretty loud noise whenever I have it in reverse without the gas being pressed at all... whenever I gas it it stops... what's that ?

I hear the same noise as well. It does it as well going into drive just not nearlly as loud. I posted a question on this a while ago and someone said it was some hydraulic thing in all of the auto trannies. So I wouldnt worry.

okie... wasnt really a bad noise... just caught my attention. anyone know about the noise it makes at idle ? like a loud pulsating noise, I suppose it sounds like whenever you turn the wheel too far one way .... very similar to that noise..

Yeah, asked that too once and they said it was just the rear being loud. I have the 3.55's, the bigger they are the louder they will be so if you have the 3.92's they will be louder.

I dunno, but in the cold mornings I hear a kinda sucking burblind noise...2002 4.7L 3.92 5spd...
