I noticed today that my Dak has a gate open idiot light...I assume it is used in Durangos(same dash)..Has anyone attempted to wire that light to their tailgate? I know Ive driven around with mine open a few times...Unknowingly

I don't believe there is a sensor or switch on our trucks to turn that light on. I wish there was so we could hook it up to the alarm. You could probably put a pin switch on it but you would have to do some drilling.

that end of it should be easy...the hard part would be tying into the system on the dummy light side

I wondered about that too about the light cuz I saw the option for it on the info center...me and a buddy tried it...apparently doesn't work w/ the dakotas. Even in my R/T fully loaded package doesn't come w/ that.

How about putting in a door light switch so the cab lights come on the same as the doors? you could probably tie into one of the door switches esily enough. wouldn't that also trigger the Alarm?
