my tranny went out and it is a 4 speed with a O/D button and i was wondering if i could put a tranny from a 89 dakota with a three speed. would it work on my 92 dakota 4x4? thanks for any help you can give me.

Not familiar with those year Daks but tranny should be same bolt pattern, just see if you can get kickdown linkage to work. I think you'll need driveshaft too, probably different length. You'll be reving a lot higher on highway, why not go with same tranny from boneyard to keep it simple ?

thanks a lot but i can not find a 4 speed i can only find a 3 speed. i was wondering if it would cause any probs with the computer on it. if any one could help i would greatly appreciate it.
