Subject: RAZ radio in your Dak IP: Logged
Message: Anybody else have the RAZ radio in your 2002 Dak ?
What I have noticed is DC got rid of the midrange control on the 2002's The 2001's had the midrange control. The sound quality on my 02 QC with the RAZ radio package stinks in comparison to the 2001's. Did anybody else notice this ?

Message: I have the RAZ and although it's not TERRIBLE (now, the radio in my Saturn...THAT was terrible) it is definitely a marked decrease in sound quality. In the Chevy I used to own, I ran all 4 speakers and an 8" sub right off of the stock factory radio, and it was always crystal clear, and there WAS no volume max. This one can be cranked up ALL the way, and it's almost like the radio says "Hm....too loud!" and lowers the volume. Plus the midrange and bass don't sound too great to me.

Message: However, the RAZ now has CD changer controls which it didn't have before.

Message: This is true, but I know that I for one would rather sacrifice no changer controls than good sound quality. The reason I did NOT get rid of the stock radio in my old S10 is because it went loud as hell, had great sound quality, and didn't 'decide' when the volume was too low. I can sit there and listen to the volume go up and down and up again; it's weird.

Message: Yes they did,and if you are thinking of swapping to an earlier model year RAZ, the harness connector is different for the 02, although you can get an adapter.
