Subject: Another paint question IP: Logged
Message: This may sound dumb but what color do you guys think looks the best on the underside of your dakota? I have a genII that 2 tone tan/bergundy. I need to do some front end bushing replacing and while the stuff is off, what should I paint it. I am talking about things like a-arms, front sway bar, torsion bars, front and rear diff covers, etc. I am thinking about going with a flat or gloss black but am not sure. Alot of the used car dealerships paint the ENTIRE underside(exhaust, frame, shocks, driveshaft, ect.) gloss black and it looks horrible. What kind of spray paint id the best for this? I am thinking some of the rust tough type paints from krylon. Any ideas?

Message: If you want good looking traditional semi-gloss black that is a great rust protectant and easy to apply try POR-15. It's brushed on, flows well, and drys smooth.
I have used the stuff on several projects. It looks great, lasts a long time, is pretty chip resistant, and stops rust.
