Message: chuck- you are selling a 10" K&N filter, when this was on your truck, what did you notice as far as truck performance, compared to the filter setup you have now? just wondering because i've got the same 10" filter in now. thanks

Saul,
The filter is currently spoken for :-(
As for performance differences, as long as the temperature is cold outside and within reason in the engine compartment, I would have to say that the open air filter produced more hp. However, during warm & hot months, the engine compartment generated too much heat and performance definitely decreased. There were some days that my Dak was an absolute dog with the open air filter. I still notice a slight decrease in hp with my current set-up on very hot days, but not as bad.
If you want to keep your open air filter, you can run some 4" rigid dryer duct. I ran two seperate inlets and it did help out a little. Check out the ductwork here:

(don't let the page name mislead you ... it's not true ram air ;-)

I haven't seen that issue yet, Bob, but I think I know what you're talking about. Yea, it is a sweet looking set-up and it looks like it would work well. Too bad the company doesn't make one for a 10" filter.
I haven't added the flares to my Dak yet because I still have the running boards on. I'm planning on installing Hotchkis' kit this year and more than likely the boards will have to come off. If that's the case then I'll probably add the flares to help protect the sides of my Dak.
