Message: I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota, 5-speed with a 3.9L V6 in it.
And I was wondering, the only Throttle Body Spacer I can find for my engine is the Poweraid from Evergreen products. Does this really do what is says?
AD: Big Torque Boost!
Unique Air Swirling Effect!
Improves Mileage!
HP & Torque: 5-8 HP/13 ft lbs Torque
If there is a better one out there, can someone tell me where to buy it, website too.

I have tested a Poweraide "Helix Bore" Spacer on my 1997 V6 (before the supercharger) and it doesn't work. On the Dyno or at the track, NO difference. (I use the spacer now for a TB holder on my workbench.)
The restrictions in the factory manifold defeat the purpose of the spacer. The spacers work great on carbureted and TBI systems, but not on our MPI systems.
If you want more HP out of the V6, swap out the factory throttle body with a V8 throttle body...or even better...a Flometrics 48mm Billet Throttle Body.

You can email Bruce for the 48mm TB directly: bbridges@flometrics.com.
His website only shows the 50mm right now though: http://www.flometrics.com/TBhomepage.html

Message: I have a 1998 Dakota Sport with a stock V6. I am looking to increase fuel economy(good luck, right!) and increase overall performance. Do any of you guys have any good ideas. I have thought about changing throttle bodies and adding performance air intakes. Any other things I am missing?
Thanks
