Message: I installed the 6x9” heated side mirrors. I installed the A/C control panel with the defroster switch below the A/C switch on my 2001 Dakota.
Now the amber light above the A/C switch flashes and the defroster (heated mirrors) doesn’t work.
The dealer says the new A/C control panel needs to be programmed for the vehicle, and it can only be done at the dealer with a hand held computer.
Any one with experience on this????

Message: The dealer is correct. When you install a new HVAC control, the new control needs to learn the travel of the actuators. The actuators adjust the temperature and move the air out of the different outlets. By learning the travel, the HVAC control can provide the best performance. The flashing LED is telling you that this procedure needs to be completed. The only way to do this is by using the DRB 3 scan tool at the dealer.
