I can't seem to get the spark plug wires off of the spark plugs? I tried pulling on the boot fairly hard but I'm afraid to pull too hard. Is there a trick to this or a tool I need to use or am I just a dumbass? Thanks

lol, ummm there is a tool but just get a firm grip as low on the boot as you can and give them a twist first, back and forth then pull them up,get your self some die-electric grease to put on them when you re-install them

You mean the heat sheild? You can take it off but why bother if you dont have the plug boot tool use some needle nose pliers around the middle of the boot, you gota yank on the boots pretty hard sometimes

Not to hassle you but you seem to not have done this before, one thing remember to mark your wires or do it 1 at a time so you dont cross your wires they have to go back in the same place, good luck

I'm just glad changing the plugs is easier than it was on the camaro i had in high school. GM mechanics have specially shaped wrenches to get to each one. If you don't have the tool.. you're almost screwed! You've got to get underneath the car and pull the starter, y-pipe, etc. first time i did it with a buddy it took me 11 hours. the drivers side was done in the first 30 minutes. for that, I'm glad to have a dodge!

(I do miss having a 11.9 sec car though)
