Hi, I'm trying to install an electric tailgate lock on my '01 Dak CC. What's the secret to getting the lower left side kick panel off in the cab, so I can get at the wiring running out to the door? There are no exposed screws, the cover seems loose enough to almost drop off but hangs up--I dont' want to break it. Anyone know the trick to getting it out??

if i remember correctly, and it is the same as my 98, you need to pop off the trim that lies under the bottom of the door when closed (covers the edge of the carpet). This overlaps the kickpanel on one end, and once removed, should come off easily. the piece of trip has some clips that just pop off.
