Subject: Best way to keep headers lookin new? IP: Logged
Message: I'm looking to get some headers for my dak but dont have the money for chrome plated ones so i'm going to get the black painted ones. How do I keep them rusting for as long as I can?

Message: Painted mine with the 1500 degree paint, then wrapped them with header wrap(real tight), then painted them again with the header black silicone paint. Only been 2 months, but they still look brand new.

Please someone correct me if i'm wrong, but I have always heard the info in the above link is true. It was stated clearly in the info I got with my JBA headers that they should not be wrapped. I have a ceramic coating on mine and after 10 months I only have a slight discoloration.

Message: i just had this conversation with a co-worker that wants to put headers on his jeep.
DONT USE WRAP! the best way to keep them looking new is get the ciramic coating. its more expencive, but well worth it!
