Subject: Fuel mileage-5.2 V-8 in Dakota vs Ram IP: Logged
Message: Would the fuel mileage in 5.2 V-8 Extended Cab Dakota (2WD & Auto Trans) be any better than the same drivetrain in a full sized Extended Cab Ram truck? Assume the same rear-end ratios on both.
I think the "standard" rear-end ratio on the Dakotas seems to be 3.55. What about the Ram truck? Is 3.55 about right for the "standard" ratio on Rams?

Message: You should get better gas milage with the Dakota.
the ram out weighs the Dakota, so with more weight to lug around, it's burning more gas to do the same work as A dakota.usually about A mile or two per gallon, nothing major.
but that's just my opinion.
