Subject: Dual Exhaust 89 Dakota IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1989 Dodge Dakota Sport 4x4 V-6 with about 165,000 miles on it and I'm thinking of putting a dual exhaust system on it. I was think of duals with glass packs but I'm not sure. I was wondering if anyone has a 89 dakota or a dakota with the older V-6 engine in it with a dual exhaust system on. If so what system do you have set up and does it sound good.
Thanks

Message: Hi there, I got a dual system. I simply bought a single in dual out flowmaster muffler. Hooked up 2 out pipes. Sounded better. But not loud. The sound really getts good when you make a homwbrew K&N intake and use it. Cut your Cat out. Make a huge difference in sound. The muffler shop can do that in no time. Then it sounds nice. And your performance will rock too. Good luck. oh yeah, edlebrock headers dont hurt the sound either. Check ebay. search Dodge Dakota. I have seen a couple cat back dual systems there.
