I own a 4.7 2001 2wd and earlier today a "check 4x4" light came on. Any idea what this could be?

hahahaaha hat's funny sh!t, you sure you don't have a 4x4? I wouldn't worry about it it's not like the transfercase will go on ya, there's nothing 4x4 to break on a 4x2. just take it in when you get a chance.

Just take your dakota back to the dealer you got it from and say, "Hey, are you trying to rip me off? I thought I ordered a 4x4!"

The Service Bulletin Number is 0803200
The NHTSA website for 2001 Dakota TSB's is:
http://www.nhtsa.com/cars/problems/tsb/central2.cfm
It is about the 10th one on the list.

hehe, you could try to get the dealer to install a 4X4 front end and transfer case on your truck to get the light to go off :) (If the dealer is not very smart)!
