Subject: Factory Alarm IP: Logged
Message: Is there a way to activate the factory alarm without going to the dealer and spending the $'s. If I understand correctly it's built in and just needs to be "turned on".

Message: Are you sure that all cars come with it, that sounds odd. I would think that it would not be cost effective for DC.
But hey, could be a nice deal.

Message: I have a 2001 QC SLT with the Power Group. The impression I had was that they ship them from the factory with the alarms turned on. (Did anyone else notice the sticker on the window that says the truck comes with a factory alarm installed)I think they turn it off when they do the "dealer prep" unless you buy it. My rep offered to sell it to me for ~$350 (I really don't remember the amount). I told him I didn't want to have to bring it back and leave it with them. He said no problem it takes 5 minutes to tweak the computer and they'd do it right then. I politely declined but wouldn't mind finding someone who could help me activate it at a lower price point...
