Well, after a month of debating and hearing how my freinds Chevy Balzer would stomp my Dakota it all came to an end last night. MY freind and his brother are always telling that my "little" pick-up is kinda quick, it wouldnt stand a chance against his Balzer. Let me braek it down:
Me:93' Dakota 4x4 w/318, auto, 3.55's, about 115,000 miles on it with the only mod being the Dynomax I clamped in place of the stock muffler. You could say my 318 has a bit of a "chatter" under the valve cover.
Him:90' K5 Blazer 4x4 w/350, auto, 6-8" suspension lift running 35" bald boggers, no muffler and a not so healthy engine.
We started from a dead stop and we were even off the line but then I just walked away from him. As soon as I let him get close by letting off he came up nearly beside me and I nailed it again. He just never did catch me. There were only a couple times when I had the gas to the floor, but mostly I had room to spare between the pedal and floor. There was one time when he almost nosed ahead. I slowed down to 45mph to let him get close and then nailed it. His front bumper was between 1-2' behind my front bumper. That was the closest he came. Maybe if his was tuned up and had a muffler it would have been close but a win is a win and a loss is a loss. I am just glad the debate is over.

You shoulda kept it to the floor and embarrssed him. Or maybe you could do that next time when he tosses a tune up at his engine and feels he will beat you because of it.

I was gonna bury the throttle but then as I pull away, I wouldnt be able tell if he was still racing. I only slowed down enough to tell if he was still racing or not. I would slow down to let him get close and then nail it and pull away. Surprised it didnt piss em' off. Anyway, a kill is a kill and a chevy kill is sooooooo sweet!
