What is everyones opinion on synthetic oil? I want to change the oil in my truck for the first time and I am wondering if it is the way to go.

Absolutely not. But, with only 350 miles on the clock, run the engine to at least you initial 1500 mile mark before switching. Let the new engine at least have a chance to fully "break in".

I've used synthetic lubricant for years. Mostly Amsoil, but the others are ok too. Several reasons to use it are indicated, it is super slippery, very high pressure[gets into all the nooks and crannies quickly], and best of all it is stable to 600 degrees vs. petroleum oil is stable to only 350 degrees. I hope this helps.
