I just got my truck back today from the paint shop, I had my front and rear bumper's painted to match rest of the truck (Flame Red)and all I can say is I can't believe how much better the truck looks, especially from the rear. Best money I spent on the truck yet.

Is your truck an SLT? I had mine in the shop for a back dent, had to have the whole side of the bed repainted. While it was in there I asked about getting the bumpers painted to match. The guy told me he couldn't do it because of the texture - paint wouldn't stick. How'd they prime yours?

I have a 2002 sport, what I had done was the black strips on the front and rear bumper's. As for the primer I couldn't tell ya there process. They sanded both bumper smooth and went from there. It cost $350 out the door and I got a 5 year warranty. I would suggest if they make your truck in a sport or R/T model you could try to order a set to replace the one's you have I think the front run's about 500 and the rear about 400 not sure if they come painted, I just briefly looked it up at work awhile ago not 100% positive but that's close.

Ah, gotcha. My upper bumpers are chrome. I may have to find a "donor" sport Dakota to get the bottom ones the same color...figures.
