Does anyone know of a salvage yard that sell "PARTS" for the GenII Dakota? I went to all the local salvage yards here in Rochester Mn area looking for doors. I found two really good doors. But the yard said if I wanted the two doors I would have to buy the two fenders, hood, grill, and the bumper... Now, I really wouldn't mind having the bumper, But what would I do with the rest of it? So when I asked the guy why, he said "well we don't get many of those in" I told him to save the other parts for the next guy who needs them... I thought salvage yards sold "parts"! If I wanted a used vehical, I wouldn't be there. Sorry to vent people, but man that pissed me off..... Anyway moral of the post, does anyone know where I can get two doors for a 96 Dakota? Thanks for listening! And for your help :)

I don't know why they wouldn't sell just the doors. I could understand trying to keep the front clip intact, but not including the doors.
Do you need both doors?
Have you tried surfing the net? there are salvage yards that have web sites now.

Good luck finding a GenII in a junk yard those things run forever. The only reason there is a junkyard is to get the junk off the road (s-10 - ranger)that's the only small truck's you'll see there.

RS~ I agree with you, there isn't many GenII in salvage yards... and if you find one it's so wrecked that there isn't much to salvage!

I'VE GOT A 92 DAKOTA UNFORTUNETLY THE TRUCKS REAR GOT SLAMMED INTO REAL BAD I AM NOW LOOKING FOR A BED. BUT I AM HAVING THE HARDEST TIME IN THE WORLD. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND ONE. I HAVE SURFED THE NET BUT CAME UP EMPTY. THANK YOU

I live in North Texas and I have found Chrysler Heaven to be the best place for my 92 Dak. I may have tons of spare parts depending on what insurance decides to do with my truck. If the price is right I am going to try to buy it back to part out.

I know for a fact that there are a pair of gen I daks sitting at Mid-Del in DE. I pulled the cupholder assembly out of one of them so I could do an EQ install. This probobly doesn't help, but it's a place that has some parts.

ALL used Dakota parts fetch very high prices and it is rare to see any of them in the junkyard and when you do it is pretty much already stripped.
Another Fact : My uncle is in the auto body repair business and he said that it is cheaper sometimes to buy new because the junkyards are overpriced on Dakota and Durango parts.
