Subject: A/C pulley removal ?? IP: Logged
Message: Well I have my 1993 V6 ext. cab running like a top now .. I need to take the A/C pully off so I can replace the bearing . It is starting to roar . I put a shorter belt on that by-passed the A/C pulley on the compressor and gave it a spin and no doubt it needs to be replaced . My question is How do you hold the inner section still so that you can get the nut off ? Special wrench ? or am I missing something .

Message: There is a special spanner tool that holds the clutch pack while you spin the nut. You can usually use something with a pointed end and jam it in one of the holes to hold it.

Message: I just use a 3/8 impact. Works like a charm.
