 Subject: 95 or 96 V6 computers

I'm new here, but I've really enjoyed the website, its been quite informative. I am considering purchasing a 96 Dak, V-6, 4X4. Sometime ago I heard that the 96 Daks had a different computer than 95's and older. And this meant little or no performance upgrades could be done. Has anyone else heard of this issue? I'm am primariliy interested in minor upgrades such as headers, bigger exhaust, improved air flow (K&N),and perhaps a hotter ignition package. Any other buyer beware information would be greatly appreciated for 96 Daks. Thanks in advance.
