Message: My Dak has 43,000 miles on it and I am sure that the suspension could use an upgrade. I do 99% of my driving on-road and as a commute of about 70 miles a day. The truck is a CC 3.9 4x4 (mostly for bad weather). I like a nice firm, resposive, on-road performance ride(like to drive around 80 regularly on twisty mountain roads in Colorado), but would need it to be relatively compliant and in the event that I go off-road it should be able to handle that without much difficulty. I have been told that the Monroe Reflex is a really good shock for this, but it seems that they don't get much credit here. Bernd likes the Pro Comps for the $ and Edelbrock seems to be on the pricy side. Based upon my needs what do you all think?

Message: I bought a slightly used set of Edelbrocks so I got them at half price, but love them on my 98 5.2
I would trust Bernd's opinion without question.

Message: I'd trust Bernd's opinion as well.
I run Bilsteins and I really like them. Firm but not harsh, with good control. Not the least expensive shocks around, but really good shocks.

Message: I had Bilsteins installed last year, and they are firm. Very noticable if you compare the Bilsteins vs. stock.
I also noticed handling improve as well.
They weren't cheap, but they are good shocks and they are supposed to last a long time. Well worth the cost.
