Message: First off, this is my truck:
I was originally going to get different wheels and tires and do a 3" suspension and 3" body lift, but I really like my wheels. I have never seen another vehicle with those wheels.
My question is this: Would a Polar Bear Grille Guard and Taillight Guards look good on my truck? And maybe some OEM fender flares? I may have to purchase a roof rack for hauling bikes and the like, so I was thinking about adding some more off road oriented accessories...feel free to share your thoughts.

Message: Your truck looks like a street truck right now, I would not go the way of the off road look. You can get Bike Tights in the bed and it will still look good. id say go for the fender flares and maybe a window tint. Your truck looks really really good right now.

Message: I like your Truck ,very nice, go for the fender flares factory,,will look awsome.they come painted from Dodge, gotta like that.and some window tint like 35% is legal in most States..Don't do the grill guard.. I like the wheels Sweet, I see you have a rear roll pan. nice. Sometimes we can do to much to our vehicles and then they start to look funky.

Message: Nah, I wouldn't add any Grille guard. Thought about adding one on mine, but I'm the kind of guy who likes to go for the "original" look. I think accessorizing your exterior too much will strip away the look of a real Dakota. Keeping your truck simple is the best, IMO.
I wouldn't raise your Dakota too much, maybe 2" or 3" to make it look "proportional."
I'm considering a 2" or 3" lift, adding some chrome tubular side steps, and a 2-part tonneau cover.

Message: Thanks for the opinions. I think I will get the OEM fender flares by summer. I was also considering some Street Scene grille inserts, either silver or black. Black would look good and not attract too much attention to the openings.
Since the picture I have also added a Stockland Tonneau cover. I will get some more pics taken as soon as I find someone with a good digital camera.

Message: If you want a grille gaurd, and keep the looks,,get a small one,,like the Westin Push/Light bar. Low profile,,and will stop you dead in your tracks at 10MPH w/little or no damage.
Maybe just level the front out, by lifting it two inches. Going too high will look awkward.

Message: About where I got the shocks, I got them from John Mercedes @ http://www.southeastrt.com. E-mail him and tell him what you want and he'll hook you up. He accepts PayPal too, which is very safe and convenient. He can also get OEM parts. Be sure to tell him Aaron Roos sent you!

Message: THANKS ! Good luck with your mods. BTW I agree - no grill guard unless you really need it for 4 wheeling, They detract from the exceptionally good front end styling these trucks have. Haven't seen restyled Dakota but I think factory goofed on restyled Ram !
