 Subject: Redline for 4.7L?

Hi all- I have a 01 QC with 4.7L, 5sp, 3.55 LSD, 4x4.
What is the redline for this motor? The tach has no redline on it. I know it has a rev limiter, I'm just curious as to what it is. My buddy has a 99 CC with 5.2L auto, and I think his tach has a redline around 5k or so.

Hey spacinjason i got ur answer no matter what tranny u have the 4.7 is rated at 6,000 rpm, but its not common for others to got higher say 6,200-6,500rpm, but i wouldnt recommend it. Hope this helps u.

Thanks for the info Rockn blk! Is 6000rpm the actual red line or is that where the rev limiter cuts it off?

Im pretty sure the truck cuts it off at 6 grand, when doin burnouts ive never had it above 6. On the road i shift at 5 since the power band starts to fall after 4800rpm. Hey since you also got the 5 spd...let 'er fly!
