Subject: Burn Out IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys,
You make think I am stupid for asking this but here goes. While I don't have a manual tranny in my Dak, I learned to drive on my dad's 5-speed so I know what I am doing. However, I never learned how to do a burn out with a manual tranny from a stop. Do you pop the clutch and hold down the brake? It seems like you would need a 3rd foot to do it! I was just curious! Thanks.
Bill

Message: to burn out in a clutch driven car, you dont need the brake if you have enough power, just rev up to about 3500-4000 rpms, then let off the clutch realy fast with your foot still on the gas. But, you will tear some sh1t up if you do this very often, or even at all. I dont recommend doin it.

Message: That's about the instructions that I expected. I don't think I would ever do that to my truck, clutches and trannies ain't cheap!

Message: I usually practice in the rain or on wet streets. It gives me a pretty good feel for the truck and it's much easier on the parts and tires. Hmmm... now if I could only smoke my 33's...

Message: Just DON'T if you have the LSD rear end... Just DON'T...
Gets VERY CRAZY VERY QUICKLY.... I did that on a cloverleaf on-ramp in the wet weather.
Fishtail is an understatement... It's a snapping back and forth of the tail of the truck.
But it DOES get rid of tailgaters in a quick hurry.
Just make sure you know how to recover from a total loss of control (off the gas and steer in the direction of the slide).
