Message: I have heard so many different views on so many oils and was wondering if someone could make sense of this site. It seems that most recommend Mobil 1 and that is what I use also......http://www.synlube.com/synthetic.htm

Message: Hey man thanks for the link! Lots of good info but HOLY $H!T did you see those prices! In my opinion I don't care how good they claim their product is--I would still want to change it REGULARLY. Case in point--I like Mobil 1 but I still change oil and filter every 3 months(although my mileage is ave. 4000+ in that time frame).

Message: I would stay away from synlube!!!!!!!!!! They are useing moly, graphite and PTFE suspended in oil. These solid particals have no place in a modern engine with a filtration system. Your filter should filter all of these out and plug up within 20 minutes of driveing. Once your filter plugs your oil filter system will bypass the filter and circulate unfiltered oil through your engine. In the 50's and 60's there was an oil that was desribed as "the black oil" it was loaded with graphite and moly. That company went bankrupt because of all the engine failures that it caused. The solids would melt and deposit themselfs in the oil galleys and then cool turning solid again. Over time this happened over and over again until the oil galleys became pluged and the engine starved for oil. Dupont has gone on record several times stateing that PTFE(teflon) has no place in an engine... In wheel bearing and rear ends I would not have a problem with their product but in an engine or transmission it soulds like trouble!! I am especialy nervious about the teflon!!!!!!
