Ever seen a Roush Stage III ... They're definately sweet cars, but they have around a 58,000 price tag on them. Anyway...They're basically a 4.6 GT with a short throw shifter, a supercharger, and a bunch of extra stuff like stabilization and steering (among other cosmetic things).

The body shop at my work today got one in that had 8 miles on it with a completely twisted frame (never wrecked -- just from the force and a weak frame). They throw out 360 hp and 375 ft pounds of torque. I just thought I would share that because I thought it was pretty sweet.

I wonder what someone could do in one of those 2000 SVT Cobra R's -- 5.4 liter with 385 hp and 385 ft. pounds of torque. I don't think you could fit a supercharger under the hood in one of those though, but that would be SICK if you could.

What would be sic is a huge blower stack sticking up out of the hood. Combine that with a slightlu nosed down look and maybe some wider meats in the back and you got one bad ass car.

They don't come supercharged. I think it's practically impossible to fit under there anyway. There's barely enough room for the whopping 5.4 under the hood. I believe the battery is mounted in the trunk.

Makes you wonder how they fit the 5.8 in the 1995 R's, eh? That motor was too heavy, it only put out 300 hp...whereas they got 385 from the 5.4 in 2000.

Oh well...I hate fancy new cars because I'll never be able to afford one (plus...I like it when all 4 tires spin). I'm helping my buddy at work drop a 400 in his '79 Camaro tomorrow -- we took out the stock 305 on Wednesday. That's going to be fun.

Sounds kind of odd - lots and lots of Mustangs have more than 400 hp at the rear wheels and have perfectly straight frames. Heck, even mine with over 430 hp at the rear wheels (supercharged) is just fine. The Roush Stage III is set up with beefed up components and should be able to handle its power quite easily, so the bent frame "from all that power" seems even more suspect.

By the way, even though the 95 Cobra R "only" had 300 hp, it still had 375 ft-lbs of torque... :-) And yes, they make superchargers for them too.
