Who makes the best hitch for my '01 Quad Cab 4 x 4? Who has the best price? Those of you that have towed with yours, will I even notice a 4 place snowmobile trailer? It has the 4.7 and an auto tranny.

By trailer hitch, are you referring to the actual hitch that mounts to the frame of the truck and then a hitch is plugged into that with the ball on it, or did you get factory towing and are looking for the hitch and ball assembly? I got my 01 4x4 CC with factory towing and then went to Wal-Mart and got a 2" Reese Drawbar and ball assembly. Wasn't more than 25 bucks, but i can't remember an exact amount. I have towed a 20 foot ski boat and a trailer with 3 snowmobiles on it, and I haven't had any problems whatsoever. I have the 3.9 so you should be fine with the 4.7. Good luck.

No, I mean the actual receiver. I bought my truck off the lot and it didn't have the factory set-up.

I have never had any problems with a Reese receiver. Here is a link to the Reese website that deals with our trucks.

You may have to scroll down a little to find the Dakota, but it looks like there are three to choose from. Hope that helps.
