Subject: K&N Oil Filters

Message:
Does anyone have experience with the K&N oil filters? I found a local supplier so they may be a good choice for me. Any first hand accounts, third hand knowledge, legend or folklore
are welcome.

Thanks,
Mike

I used one once, I guess it filtered the oil, I liked the "nut" on the end for removal. It cost me $14.99 thats a little steep now i usually go with the Mobil 1 filter ($10). I'm sure its a great filter or the K&N name would not be on it IMHO

Around here, usually at Schucks Auto, they cost $9.99. I've used them for several years and I think they work great. Its really hard to tell how well a filter does.

I also only use K&N filters. They are $10 locally. You can get them from Summit Racing for like a dollar cheaper but you have to pay shipping. www.truckperformance.com has them for cheaper if you buy like 10 of them. I assume they work I have not seen the inside of the engine though. I would like to get an Amsoil bypass filter instead but they are more expensive.

I use Mobile 1 but I have heard nothing but good things about K&N. If you have a 4.7 then you will realy like the nut on the end!!!

I have a 92dak CC v6 and I have been using K&N for about a year(5 changes) and have been very impressed, I'm not a rocket scientist but the oil is as clean is oil can be when I drain it.
