Subject: What is this???

Ok i know this is going to be vague.. but hopefully someone can understand me.. I have an 87 3.9 L V6 4wheel drive dak. there is this clicking or tapping sound comming somewhere on the truck... it is there in park, drive, and sometimes reverse... It is very rhythmic.. when i'm cruising out my street about about 15-20 MPH i hear it the best. When i speed up it gets faster clicking, but when in park and i rev the engine, the clicking doesn't change... When i'm on the Highway at 55 MPH i can't hear it at all...

Someone suggested it could be the transer case on the 4WDrive... it makes the sound in 2 and 4 WDrive..

does anyone have a suggestions? and i have a bad leaking radiator which i'm getting replaced tomorrow... could the tapping/clicking be connected to the cooling system?

Thanks
Donald

Ok i called the dodge dealer and the service guy said it could be any of these:

Transmission
Linkage <--- What is that??? :o
Torque converter
Transfer Case
... or most likely:

CATALYTIC Converter!!!

I was like huh? it said they inside of the converter closes up and it causes a rattle - tapping like sound... weird eh? I just replaced it about 5 years ago...

If the converter is bad... what brand should i buy? I don't remember the brand of one performance brand, but i would prefer to get a good one that will last a while but won't break the bank... any suggestions?
