Subject: Infamous Peeling Front Bumper - Fixed!!

Message:
Hey all. I finally got my front bumper painted this week and they did a fabulous job. I didn't realize just how much that faded, patchy bumper detracted from the looks of my truck until I saw the finished job - it looks like a brand new part! Ironically, one of the best body shops in this area is the local Nissan dealership, they did an incredible job when I got rear-ended last year, and fixed a small dent in the front bumper. For anyone who lives in Ontario, in the Kawarthas - that's Trans Canada Nissan in Peterborough, they have won awards for their body work.

Well, for almost 3 years now, I've been using Turtle Wax black wax on it, which would look good for about a week, then it would start to wear off. Also, it's messier than schit!

I wish that the Dodge people would have done it right the first and SECOND time they did it. I know that this is far to common to tolerate. I finally sanded mt own bumper down, made about 5 coats with primer then left it flat black after that. It really does detract from the appearance of the truck when your bumper has freckles. To date it is still holding up, which is better that it did when the Dodge people did it, started fading and chipping after two weeks.

Well I don't understand why you guys are having problems. My chrome bumper is like new. LOL. I know, I know! It looks like a grandpa's truck. Hell, it IS a grandpa's truck. At my age I drive what I want. You oughta' see your mom look at me when I drive by with my tunes turned up, my chrome bumper shining, and the Flowmaster thumping. Haha.
