Message: Hi all. I've been looking at all the posts on here, as I just ordered a new 2002 Dakota earlier this month. I cant wait to get it and hopefully we will get a huge snowstorm up here in IL so I can try it out. I've driven a Dodge Ram for the past 4 years and never thought I would down size to a Dakota. Then one day I went out and test drove a Dakota Sport 4x4 club cab with the 4.7 L V8. I was really impressed with its performance and fell in love with the truck. I knew then that that was the truck I was going to buy. I spent about 3-4 months shopping around, looking at Fords, didn't care to look at Chevys (I knew what I didn't like about them) and Dodges. Dont really care for the 2002 look of the Rams. I was able to get a Dakota fully loaded for much less than a full size truck would have cost! And really my new Dakota should be able to do just about everything I could do with a full size truck. BTW I went to 4 different Dodge Dealerships and I liked the 4th one the best because they were the nicest, gave me the best price on my trade in Ram, and I paid flat invoice price for everything.
Heres what I got:
Club Cab Sport
4x4 and limited slip diff.
4.7L V8
HD service group
Skid plate group
Infinity sound system (audio controls on steering wheel!! I'm so excited)
Tow package
Overhead power console with computer and lights
Engine Block Heater (only cost $32)
Power Conv. Group (windows, locks)
rear sliding window (might want to open it some day)
Bucket seats
The truck is going to be Graphite Metallic with a slate grey interior.
Hopefully will get it in a few weeks (they told me 4-6 weeks when I ordered it)
Everyone Stay Safe and dont forget to go out of the lines once in a while!
Matt

Message: Congratulations! You should be very happy with that set-up. Be careful not to hang around here too much or you may become addicted to writing/responding to posts and then melt your Credit Card with every modification made for your Dak:)
Nurse could you please loosen the straps on this strait jacket so I can type faster...

Take a number for the straight-jacket Blizzard, I just bought diamond clear-corners & fog lights. Wonder if they sell those straight-jackets on ebay? :)

Good idea, Lesley, I'm gonna check for straight-jackets on eBay!
It's snowing to beat the band here in NJ so I guess I'll find out how the Dak handles in the white stuff!

Message: LOL! I know, scary huh? And to think I just discovered it 6 months ago. I bet you could buy an entire truck, piece by piece - wonder if it's ever been done?
